Explore a city park, where you can enjoy playgrounds and picnic areas, sports fields and courts, an outdoor pool with water slides, a Municipal Golf Course, and walking trails. There’s even a new park coming soon to Forest City, the Forest City Pavilion on Park Square, featuring an amphitheatre for concerts and events, a splash pad, picnic areas, and a walking trail. And the new 13-mile paved Thermal Belt Rail Trail is scheduled to open late 2018.

Nearby, you can paddle or boat the sparkling waters of the breathtakingly beautiful Lake Lure or catch your breath atop the stunning Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park. Just a short drive away, endless outdoor adventures await in the Pisgah National Forest or along the Blue Ridge Parkway.
